What we recommend

We recommend www.canva.com for creating eye-catching images and VistaPrint.com for creating business cards, bookmarks and other promotional items.  Materials you may want to consider would be:

  1. Business cards with your contact information on the front and book specific information on the back.

    • You may want to include a QR Code directing fans to your website on the front and a second directing them to the main sales pages for your book on the back.  For example, leading them to your Amazon book page rather than to the Audible version.  They can purchase the book in any of its formats from the Amazon link.

  2. Bookmarks

    • Should include all the same material as business cards and can be used in lieu of them.

  3. Posters for tables at festivals and book signings (8.5 x 11 and purchase acrylic sign holders)

    • Use www.canva.com to create an eye-catching poster including your book cover.  You were supplied with many of these possibilities when you became a client.

    • Since audiobooks cannot be sold as physical items, include a poster advertising the audio version and have a QR Code linking people to the book at Audible.com

  4. Newsletter sign-up sheets

    • Rather than a blank sheet of paper or a hand-drawn chart, create and print sheets that have your name, logo and/or book cover.

    • Collecting business cards is a quick and easy way to gather someone’s contact information.

    • Once home, be sure to enter all this information into your newsletter/contact list and send an “It was nice to talk with you at the Book Festival” email within a few days.

  5. Swag - Consider book related swag (free gifts) for people who sign up for your newsletter and/or make a purchase.

    • Consider a separate item for people who show you their phones/tablets with the purchase of your book in audio or electronic edition on the screen.

    • If items are very pricey, you may consider offering them for sale, but then offer them at a discount if someone makes a purchase.
